I live in a residential neighborhood in central FL where we have several ponds around and year round muscovey ducks. Recently the neighbors... New to the neighborhood, have a boy(8-10 years old) that chases the ducks. He has separated a new mother from her 3 week old babies on several occasions...my husband has spoken to him but he says his dad lets him so he can do it... Is there a protection for this wildlife or an agency anyone knows of that can stop this behavior? It is quite upsetting to see this child aggregate the animals.

Hi.  Feral Muscovy are seen as a nuisance in that part of the world so likely nothing anyone will do unless they begin to abuse them, in which case you may have to notify police or sheriff to intervene, if they will.  Sorry for delayed response.  I've been badly neglecting the forum.

Have you tried talking to the parents?

The information I have provided in this message is based on my own personal experiences, the experiences of others who have shared their experiences and knowledge with me, and a dash of opinion thrown in for extra flavor.  Your mileage may vary! Shocked)
