When processing such a large bird as a 13 pound Muscovy drake, a bird that doesn't want to go willingly to the killing cone can do quite a bit of damage to both itself and the farmer. It's a powerful bird with long claws. My question ; Is using a stun device to disable the bird (A) effective and (B) humane? It seems to me that a stunned bird can be more easily killed with less stress to both the farmer and the bird. I believe that we should care for and respect an animal that is going to give his (or her) life for our substance. Please share with me your thoughts or other ideas on handling this problem. Thank You,PD
