First one out.
He acts like he is to hot. His feathers are dry but looks wet.
He is not to active. There was blood in the egg. I did not help it
out. I assume the membrain is to dry.
I am going to put him in a brooder at 90 deg with food and water.

Final count.

Two hatched normally.
Five I was waiting on. Of those five, three died overnight.
So I pulled the two remaining ones out by hand. They are still
alive.

The ones that were late deaths did not pip the air cell.
The ones I pulled out were WAY to big to move around
in the egg.

I started with 27 eggs, two hatched normally and two
I made hatch barley in time. I think what ill do is let
my four Muscovy's grow up and then try and hatch there
eggs next spring.

This was a long hard process, but I learned a lot. Next time
I predict FAR better results. Smiley

Have been stringing fence...welding steel fenceposts, and corners in the 105 F heat for two days.....I'm addled.
Anyway.....TOO FAT TO HATCH....sounds like me.....MOST common problem I have encountered.

I am also down to about 75% now....THIS IS DUE TO THE LATE SEASON EGGS. The fertility has dropped and the eggs are more cantankerous about developing properly. We dropped from 90%+ to 75% now....still have a lot of ducks hatching.

Order some day old hatchlings from JM Hatchery, and get ready for next year.
