I'm reducing the size of my flock of muscovies in preparation to moving across the country.

For sale I've got adult pairs of chocolate, buff (ripple), and a chocolate ripple drake plus various young birds in solid or pied chocolate or black.

I've got buff, chocolate, black and chocolate ripple.  There are photos in the gallery.

They will need to be picked up in northcentral MN near Brainerd 56401.

Wish I had the ability to keep more birds - I wouldn't let an opportunity pass to get some good Shulte stock.

Where are you moving to, fishes?

I'm moving to south central PA.

Right now I'm planning on keeping Loverboy (my black drake that the hens seem to love) a black, chocolate and white hen.  I would keep a buff ripple if I had more than one but I'd like the one I do have to go with the matching drake.

Are you giving up the fish farming or will you do that in PA?

I'll be at least taking a break from fish farming.  Possibly permanent.  This has been such a bad experience with the MN DNR retaliation I need to unwind before I decide whether to continue pursuing my dream.

Oh, I see.  I didn't know about the DNR...have you posted about it or is it a statewide fiasco?

I definitely understand where you're coming from!  I was that way for awhile with the birds!

It should be a statewide fiasco but our industry is so tiny that it doesn't get noticed.  It is tiny because the agency (MN DNR) that regulates it is openly hostile towards private aquaculture and unaccountable.  My regional manager told me that "merely" because I was licensed to raise fish it did not mean he would let me.  My farm has no violations, complies with or exceeds all statutes but he can still cancel my license on an whim.  He has the full support of the agency.

My website documents part of the story.

The good news is that the PA DNR seems to be more honest and professional.  That will be a welcome change.

In the meantime though I have to decide what colors to bring with me.  I'm thinking my black drake, and a black, chocolate and white hen.  I'd like a buff hen but I want the only one I have to go with the buff drake as a matched pair.
